Theo, welcome to Al-Hilal. How do you feel about moving to Saudi Arabia?

It is true that Saudi football is now rising in level. There are a lot of outstanding players. I think it is the beginning of a new stage in my career, and I am very happy to be here.

How much have you seen of your new team?

Yes, I have seen the team. I think it's a huge club, the Saudi League as well. We have seen the team that they are in the Club World Cup, and surely they can compete against many European teams.

How was it watching Al-Hilal performances in the FIFA Club World Cup?

For me, Al-Hilal’s games in the Club World Cup were so good. We saw that there were a lot of good teams, but we saw that Al-Hilal is up to the level of many European teams, like we all saw, and they proved.

Did you speak to anyone before your move?

Before coming here I contacted João Cancelo; I asked him about the club and the city, because I didn't know so much about that. He told me that the team is very good, with outstanding players, also on a personal level, and that the city is very beautiful.

What is your ambition with Al-Hilal?

I have so many ambitions with Al Hilal. It is a new stage in my life, I think that we have a very good team, and I want to win. We’re going to try to win everything we can.

How much contact have you had with Al-Hilal fans?

Sure, I have seen Al Hilal fans welcoming me with open arms. I have seen the messages that they have sent me and my wife on Instagram. There are many of them and I am very happy to start a new journey with them.

What is your message to those fans?

My message to Al-Hilal fans: I am very happy to be in this new team, and many thanks for the warm welcome.

Proud to be Hilali
