Al-Hilal Crowned Saudi King’s Cup Champion and the History Makers Confirm the Domestic Treble

Under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud -may Allah protect him- , the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, -may Allah protect him-, crowned Al-Hilal the “History Makers” champion of the Saudi King’s Cup for the eleventh time, the second in a row, and the sixty-ninth championship in its history; after beating “AlNassr” on penalties after 1-1 draw; in the final match that was taking place on Friday evening at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Jeddah.

During the journey toward the title, Al-Hilal beat “AlJabalain” in the round of 32 by one goal to nil; that scored by “Rúben Neves”, who also opened the scoring against “AlHazem” in the round of 16, while “Aleksandar Mitrovic’s” double made it 3-0 at the end. With the same result, “Michael Delgado, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Malcom Filipe” announced Al-Hilal’s qualification for the semifinal after defeating “AlTaawoun”.

After that, Al-Hilal advanced to the final for the third consecutive time following the 2-1 victory over “Al-Ittihad” that scored by “Michael Delgado and Saud Abdulhamid”, as “Aleksandar Mitrovic” scored Al-Hilal’s goal during the final that ended on penlties for the History Makers. By this achievement, the “History Makers” managed to win the domestic treble of the sport season 2023-2024; adding the King’s Cup trophy to both Roshn Saudi League and Saudi Super Cup, noteworthy that Al-Hilal has achieved a record of the most consecutive football victories in all competition that reached 34 wins, and Guinness World Records certificate was handed over to Al-Hilal President “Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel” and the team manager “Jorge Jesus” during the awarding ceremony of the League; that ended with a historical and outstanding records for ”the Leader” that finished RSL League unbeaten, in addition to collecting 96 points; with 14 points ahead of their nearest rivals, scoring 101 goals as the most successful team in the Saudi League history, as Al-Hilal received also the trophy of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) on the achievement of the most consecutive football victories.

It is worthy mentioning that the current squad of the team of 2023-2024 season includes a number of big names and players of high quality including the Brazil’s top scorer of all time “Neymar Junior”, and his compatriots “Malcom Filipe, Michael Delgado, and Renan Lodi”, in addition to the great Serbian duo “Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Savić”, and the Portuguese player “Rúben Neves”, along with the Moroccan great goalkeeper “Yassine Bounou”, and the Senegalese defender “Kalidou Koulibaly”, who are representing the team with the Saudi stars “Salem AlDawsari, Ali AlBulayhi, Saud Abdulhamid, Hassan Tambakti, Yasser AlShahrani, Salman AlFaraj, Saleh AlShehri, Mohammad AlOwais, Mohammad AlBurayk”, and other outstanding names who are managed by the Portuguese head coach “Jorge Jesus”, under the presidency of the Chairman of Al-Hilal Club Company “Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel”.

The “History Makers” and the most successful club in Saudi Arabia and Asia with 69 championships is domestically holds a record 19 Saudi League titles, a record 13 Crown Prince Cup titles, a record 6 Saudi Federation Cup titles, a record four Saudi Super Cup titles, 11 King Cup titles, as well as the Saudi Founder's Cup.

Internationally, Al-Hilal also holds the record for the most continental trophies in Asia with eight trophies; including a record of the AFC Champions League in 1991, 2000, 2019 and 2021, the Asian Cup Winners Cup in 1997 and 2002, and the Asian Super Cup in 1997, 2000.

In addition to that, Al-Hilal was officially titled “Asia’s Club of the Century” by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics in 2009, and also awarded “Asia’s Club of the Decade” from 2001 to 2010 by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics in 2012.

Al-Hilal, nicknamed Asia’s Leader, is also the Asian club with the most number of FIFA Club World Cup qualification with five times in 2001, 2019, 2021, 2022, & 2025, and holds the most number of Club World Cup participation with three times in 2019, 2021, & the runner-up of 2022 edition.

Moreover, Al-Hilal has won seven official titles in the regional level including 4 Arab titles, 2 Gulf titles, and Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup.
