The early 1970s marked the beginning of Al-Hilal's rise to prominence, establishing the club at the pinnacle of its sporting achievements.

Al-Hilal became a strong contender after winning several championships since entering competition with clubs from the Western Region and other parts of the Kingdom.

This early part of the decade was a relatively quiet one for Al-Hilal before it reclaimed its position at the forefront of the Kingdom, winning the Saudi Premier League title in 1977.

In October 1978, Al-Hilal made a major signing, resonating globally, by acquiring Brazil national captain Rivellino, who led the club to another Premier League title in 1979.

Al-Hilal also added another trophy to its collection, winning the Ministry of Defense Cup in 1979.

Following this success, Al-Hilal grew stronger, more confident, and more dominant, transforming ambition into championships and hope into certainty.

On the pitch, the name Al-Hilal commanded respect, and for many rivals it became a source of awe. Al-Hilal played with character and conviction, cultivating a winning mentality that was passed down from father to son, and from generation to generation.
