Akçiçek, 19, is one of the most prominent defenders in the Turkish league. He represented the Galatasaray youth academy teams before moving to Fenerbahçe, progressing through the youth teams until he made his first team debut.

At international level, Akçiçek has progressed through the age groups with his national team, representing Turkey at U17, U18, and U19 levels, in addition to earning two caps for the senior side.

Akçiçek is expected to join the team's training after completing his international duty with his national team.
