Kingdom Holding Completes Acquisition of 70% Stake in Al-Hilal

The acquisition by Kingdom Holding Company of a 70% stake in Al-Hilal Club Company share from the Public Investment Fund was completed today, Tuesday, in accordance with the share purchase and sale agreement signed by both parties on April 16.

Under the agreement, Kingdom Holding Company has become the owner of 70% of the shares in Al-Hilal Club Company, while the Public Investment Fund retains a 30% stake, following the completion of all relevant procedures related to the deal.

The Board of Directors of Al-Hilal Club Company, headed by His Highness Prince Nawaf bin Saad, expressed its appreciation for the support and empowerment the club has received from the Public Investment Fund, as well as the Fund’s contribution since acquiring ownership of the club to strengthening the institutional transformation of the club’s company, developing its operating framework, and improving its operational and commercial capabilities.

The board of directors welcomed Kingdom Holding Company as the principal shareholder of Al-Hilal Club Company, expressing its anticipation of a new chapter in the club’s journey, that will contribute to sustaining its growth, strengthening its competitive and investment capabilities, and expanding its presence both domestically and internationally, while preserving Al-Hilal’s legacy and identity and meeting the aspirations of its fans.

The Board confirmed that the completion of the acquisition represents an extension of the objectives of the Investment and Privatization Project for Sports Clubs, which enjoys the support and attention of the wise leadership – may God protect them – within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to develop the sports sector, enhance its economic and investment contribution, and empower clubs to achieve sustainability and growth.

The Board stressed that this step launch a new phase for Al-Hilal to continue its sporting and institutional leadership, and to build a sustainable sporting and investment model capable of competing domestically and internationally, and contributing to achieving the aspirations of Saudi sports.
